European knowledge test

LONDON, England -- A survey has shown that citizens in many European countries are unable to answer basic questions on their shared history, geography and popular culture.

Of the 3,800 people in 19 European countries, Portugal came last with an average of 9.6 marks while EU hopeful Poland came top with an average of 15.4.
